Meet Coach Kyle


By now many of you (hopefully) have taken a class coached by him. Maybe he coached your tween. Or maybe you’ve seen him in passing. But who is Coach Kyle when he’s not “Coach”?


I sat down with him (not really I gave him a questionnaire to fill out) to find out ‘Who is Coach Kyle’?


Q: How long have you been involved in CrossFit? Why did you get started?

A: I have only been doing CrossFit for a couple months [6 months actually], but I have been doing CrossFit type workouts for over a year. I have always had a desire to push myself. 


Q: Where did you grow up? Do you have any siblings/children?

A: I grew up in Shrewsbury, Mass. I have a younger brother (23) and a younger sister (18). 


Q: What would your perfect workout look like?

A: A full body workout with intervals of hard intensity followed by intervals of rest. 


Q: What is a bad habit you should probably break?

A: Hitting the snooze button. 


Q: What are your favorite hobbies/activities to do outside of the gym?

A: Anything outside. I love to snowboard in the winter, hike in the summer/fall, and I’m always hanging out with my dog. 


Q: What is your favorite music to listen to?

A: I have a wide range of music I listen to depending on what I am doing, including country, rap, rock, hip hop… I am always open to listen to any music. 


Q: What is your favorite book?

A: Holes


Q: What is your favorite ice-cream flavor? 

A: Mint Chocolate Chip


Q: What is one guilty pleasure you have?

A: Beer


Q: What is something you know now that you wish someone had told you when you first started CrossFit?

A: Start slow. Focus on mobility and get the movements down before adding weight. 


Q: What is your greatest accomplishment? Why? How did that help you grow?

A: Becoming a paramedic. Paramedic school was essentially my full time job for a year and a half. It required a lot of hard work, commitment, sacrifice, and consistency. It gave me a boost of confidence knowing that if you put the time in, good things will happen. 


Q: Do you have a college degree? In what?

A: Yes, in Criminal Justice


Q: What are you most passionate about?

A: My work. I love having the opportunity to help people. 


Q: Who is your favorite superhero?

A: Hulk


Q: If you could have any superpower what would it be?

A: I would love to fly.
