The weekly ritual is one of the most important self-care habits I've learned in my 37 years on this earth. It is often one of the biggest factors in whether I (or my nutrition clients) succeed in the upcoming week when it comes to making healthy choices consistently.
“Selective Willpower” + Supportive Environments + Healthy Routines = #SUCCESS
This is what my Sunday night routine looks like, as I try my best to “walk the talk” as a coach, a mom, a wife.
Each Sunday I plan and prep my meals for the week. This whole process from start to finish takes roughly 2 hours. I start by planning my families meals for the week. Then I start prepping for the week ( I generally plan our meals for the week but only prep food for a few days in advance). By the time I'm done our fridge is filled with:
• cut up veggies (perfect to easily add to an omelet or stir-fry
• cut up fruit (perfect for my sweet tooth)
• proteins (hard boiled eggs, shredded chicken, meatballs)
• basically a mix of healthy(ish) options to grab when on the go as well as makes getting dinner on the table easier.
Sunday nights I will sit and plan out my week; what days I plan to work out, any appointments I need to remember, I even plan my cleaning schedule.
Each Monday morning I can wake up ready to start my week knowing that I've already taken care of making healthy nutrition choices.
